LOUIS - A woman is facing charges after allegedly filing a false police report claiming a vehicle had been stolen with her child inside, leading to an Amber Alert and a large police response. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), officers responded in the area of S. 4th St. and Chouteau Ave. around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night after receiving a report from a mother who claimed a Dodge Charger had been stolen with her 1-year-old child inside.

In March, two women were charged in Affton with falsely reporting a child abduction, triggering an AMBER Alert and a large-scale search. According to police, the vehicle was seized and the suspect was taken into custody, but no child was inside the vehicle.
