ELIZABETH, New Jersey (WABC) -- A woman was injured after jumping from a third-floor window to escape a fast-moving three-alarm fire that tore through a multi-family home in Elizabeth on Sunday morning, officials said. Firefighters responding to the blaze on Jefferson Avenue found flames extending from the first floor and running along the rear of the building, with reports of people trapped inside. The 50-year-old woman was found in a rear driveway after jumping from the building and was taken to University Hospital with burns and possible traumatic injuries. Officials later said she suffered a broken bone and was transferred to St. Barnabas Hospital for further treatment.
