Woman killed in Nephi shooting fired toward officer during domestic violence call: police

The woman killed in a confrontation with Nephi City police fired toward the officer first, "narrowly" missing them, according to recently released documents. A Nephi police officer responded to a report of domestic violence Sunday, with the caller stating their ex-wife had shown up at his house and was acting erratic, the probable cause statement said. The woman suspect also allegedly called dispatch, saying she was going to shoot him. Documents state the officer ordered her to get on the ground, but she resisted arrest and retreated into the home.
