Woman killed in Times Square stabbing spree identified as 32-year-old from New Jersey

Jarring video circulating social media shows the woman swinging two large knives before police shot and killed her in the middle of Times Square. NBC New York’s Tracie Strahan reports. Authorities have released the identity of the woman killed when police say an emotionally disturbed woman started stabbing people in the heart of Times Square Monday afternoon. Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old from Chester, New Jersey, was stabbed in the abdomen. She was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time after the attack in the tourist-heavy area near 41st Street and Seventh Avenue.
