Woman killed while crossing Westheimer Road outside crosswalk near Houston club

A woman died after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Westheimer Road in west Houston late Saturday night, according to the Houston Police Department . The crash happened around 11:51 p.m. near the 12900 block of Westheimer Road. Investigators said a group of women was crossing the roadway to reach a nearby club. The group was not using a designated crosswalk when a vehicle hit one of the women. The woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries, where she was later pronounced dead.
