BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office reports a 19-year-old was sentenced after firing a weapon near the detention facility while a detainee in March. Angel Blanding plead guilty to three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. She was sentenced to 25 to 42 months in the North Carolina Division of Adult Correction. The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said Blanding was being dropped off at the Sally Port of the detention facility on March 8 when she got a hold of a weapon that was locked in a firearm rack in the front of the vehicle she was in. She fired one round which damaged two Asheville Police Department vehicles, according to deputies.
