A woman was shot Thursday by a Baltimore County police officer during an incident in Middle River, police officials said in a statement. Officers were called to the 1000 block of Carroll Island Road on Thursday morning in response to a report of an armed adult female wanted in connection with an assault. When officers found the adult female, she was inside her vehicle. When they began to engage with the subject, police said she gave up a knife to officers. But the woman later produced a firearm, "at which time one officer discharged their firearm," the statement said.
