Woman shot through apartment door, killed in North Philly, police say

A woman was killed, officials say, after she was shot through her apartment door at a building along the 1500 block of Girard Avenue early Tuesday. A woman was killed early Tuesday when, police said, a bullet was fired through the front door of an apartment during a break-in at a complex along Girard Avenue in North Philly. According to Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small, the incident happened just after 3 a.m. on Tuesday when officers arrived at an apartment complex along the 1500 block of Girard Avenue following a reported break-in.
