Woman sues Oregon hospital for $17.5M. Lawsuit says doctor misdiagnosed parasite that nearly killed her

Micheal Fiock says he had no clue why Springfield police pulled over his school bus on a late January afternoon. Fiock says as the 47 students on board watched, police gave him a series of tests : Walk a straight line, touch the tip of his nose, visually track a pencil as an officer moved it from side to side. One of his eyes was droopy, he stumbled when he walked, and his speech was slurred , he says. The cops asked Fiock, who was then 78, if he had been drinking or using any drugs. “I told them ‘I don’t drink, and I don’t do drugs, either,’” Fiock, now 79, told The Oregonian/OregonLive in an interview Thursday.
