A dispute over a parking space outside a Walmart in North Lauderdale, Florida, ended in a fatal shooting, but prosecutors say the woman who fired the shot will not face criminal charges, ABC reported . The Broward County State Attorney’s Office determined that Melissa Payne was legally justified in shooting 62-year-old Bart DiGuglielmo under Florida’s “stand your ground” law , according to prosecutors. The confrontation happened June 30 after Payne and DiGuglielmo became involved in a dispute over a parking space. DiGuglielmo, a retired U.S. Army veteran and former emergency room physician, allegedly left his vehicle parked in a traffic lane before entering the store, according to the investigation.
